Accessibility Statement
I want helands.com to work for everyone, whatever device, ability or situation you bring to it.
The standard
I strive to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, and Level AAA wherever it’s feasible.
How this site is built
- Text colours well above the highest contrast level (7:1)
- A clear, visible focus outline on every link, button and form field when you use a keyboard
- Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed for readers with low vision
- Nothing moves or plays sound unless you choose it
- Forms with clear labels, help text, and error messages that keep what you’ve typed
- Every link opens in the same tab
- No pop-ups that cover the page or interrupt you
Where it’s at
This site hasn’t had a full formal audit yet. It’s planned, and I’ll update this page with the results. Until then, some things may still fall short, especially with screen readers I haven’t tested yet.
